Paris
Exploring the iconic landmarks, art museums, and charming streets of Paris.
Paris was one of the cities I have always wanted to visit. Even though I spent 2 months in Brussels, I didn’t go to Paris because I wanted my visit to be ✨special✨. Even my childhood room has furniture with Eiffel Tower, it is hard to describe what I meant but basically my wardrobe, bookcase and headboard had an Eiffel figure on it – I really don’t know why someone did this design but it looked so classy to me with the white color. Anyway, I finally went to Paris with my friends from Tübingen and I loved it!
Our journey started in the Stuttgart Airport but don’t be fooled, of course, we don’t use a plane. There was where Flixbus buses were leaving. Flixbus took around 10 hours but it was night so we tried to sleep as much as we could.
We bought a 1-week Navigo Pass to use public transportation. I had to buy a ESim from a French company because we needed a French mobile phone number to buy Navigo Pass. We stayed in an Airbnb near Alexandre Dumas metro station. Since it was near some metro stations, we didn’t experience any inconvenience about transportation.
During our stay, we visited:
- Eiffel Tower – not the inside
- Le petit Palais
- Grand Palais
- Musée du Louvre
- Tuileries Garden
- Champs-Élysées
- Musée d’Orsay
- Arc de Triomphe
- Notre-Dame Cathedral
- Shakespeare and Company
- Palais Garnier – not the inside
- Boat Tour in Seine River
We ate steak at Relais de l’Entrecôte, it was a restaurant I kept seeing on Instagram. I actually like their steak and sauce but I don’t go again because you need to wait a long time. We also went to Chapon et la Chocolaterie de l’Eglise to eat chocolate mousse but I don’t like it even though I love mousse. Other than that we ate pizza, macarons, crêpes and went to another restaurant where I ate chili con carne. In the mornings, we ate croissants! My suggestion is that don’t search for famous patisseries, just go to the closest one and you’ll find the best croissant!
PARIS - I hope my friends doesn't kill me because I shared this but it was one of the funniest moment in our trip.
Our improvisation of Rencontre d'Alexandre et de Diogène. This relief shows the legendary meeting between Alexander the Great and the philosopher Diogenes. When Alexander the Great asked what he could do for Diogenes, the philosopher replied: "Just step out of my sunlight."
My highlights for this trip were sitting on the grass in front of the Eiffel Tower, eating pizza, drinking wine in the sunset and walking down from Champs-Élysées. Also, I like the Orsay Museum more than the Louvre Museum.
Sitting on the grass with wine and pizza, my favorite moment of Paris. We seem extremly exhausted but I think this photo is from the first day when we haven't slept at all previous night because of the Flixbus.
I would definitely go back to Paris, it was lovely and worth-to-see! 💜 Next time I’d like to visit Monet’s Garden, Panthéon and the inside of Palais Garnier.
